Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Chats

The brief

A chaat counter that has served pani puri since 1969 had moved to a new street. Decades of regulars needed to find the new door — and first-timers needed the menu to do the selling.

What we built

• A warm, bilingual (Kannada + English) photo-menu site — the food reads the same in two languages.
• A festive gold-on-maroon identity with a toran garland and a "since 1969 · 57 years" trust badge.
• Call and Google Maps directions to the new location, behind a clear cookie-consent gate.
• A fast, self-contained static build.

Styling

A deep maroon ground with festive gold and cream — a Kannada display face (Yeseva One and Noto Serif Kannada) paired with Baloo 2 for warmth. Celebratory and appetite-forward, unmistakably local.

Build

Static site on GitHub Pages with bilingual typography and Google Maps directions gated behind consent — light, fast, and nothing to maintain.

Outcome

The move stops costing footfall: regulars find the new counter, and the menu welcomes newcomers in the language they read.
